Getting To The Hotel On July 4th

The conference starts on July 4th and there is a downtown celebration happening during the day going into the night. This website has more information regarding road closures and the events downtown. Please be prepared for delays getting to the hotel and plan that it may take more time to get to the hotel being the celebration will be happening right around the JW Marriott.

Getting To and From The Airport

Flights to and from Austin go through Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, approximately 6 miles from the JW Marriott Hotel “as the crow flies”. Travel between the airport and the hotel can be accomplished in the following ways:

Public Transit

Austin’s CapMetro public transit service offers easy and affordable bus service between the airport and the hotel.

Bus fares are only $1.25 each way. Passes can also be purchased allowing unlimited rides within a 1-day or 7-day period. Click here for further pricing.

Airport to Hotel: Take bus route #20 “northbound” into downtown, getting off at 2nd street (the second street after crossing the Colorado river). This will place you two and one-half blocks west of the hotel.

Hotel to Airport: Walk west on 2nd street three and one-half blocks until you arrive at Guadalupe street, then take bus route #20 “southbound” until you arrive at the airport.

Bus route #20 operates 7 days a week, every 15 minutes during the daytime and every 30 minutes during late evenings and early mornings. Detailed scheduling and a map can be found here.

Train

Amtrak’s Texas Eagle Train connects Downtown Austin with major U.S. cities, including but not limited to: Los Angeles, Phoenix (Maricopa), Tucson, El Paso, San Antonio, Fort Worth, Dallas, Little Rock, St. Louis, and Chicago. The Downtown Austin Amtrak Station is located at 250 N Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78703, and is a 22 minute walk from the hotel.

On Hotel Property

The JW Marriott offers parking on site in their garage underneath the hotel, costing $54 plus tax per day for self-service and $69 plus tax per day for valet. Unlike the public parking options below, this parking option allows unlimited in and out access without having to pay again. This applies to hotel guests only (room must be in your name).

Near The Hotel

Unlike the hotel parking above, these garages/lots do not offer “in and out” access. You will have to pay again each time you return your car after taking it out.
